She’s Got It Together Podcast!
Hey there, busy mamas! It’s Jessica, and I’m so excited to share with you the highlight of my week – an incredible conversation with the one and only Denise Albright on the latest episode of She’s Got It Together. We chatted about 10 simple systems to streamline mom life that you can start implementing today to declutter your mind, streamline your daily life, and find a little more peace amidst the chaos of motherhood. Trust me when I say these tips are total lifesavers!
First up, let’s talk about laundry. I know, I know – not exactly the most thrilling topic. But what if I told you there was a way to make laundry day a little less daunting? Enter the “Wash It Next” bin. This genius hack involves designating a specific spot in your laundry room for all those must-have items – think sports uniforms, favorite shirts, and the like. Instead of hunting through piles of clothes every time someone needs something specific, you can just toss it in the bin and know it’ll get washed ASAP. Denise even shared a bonus tip: keep those often-worn items in the laundry room, so they’re always easy to find. Mind. Blown.
But the laundry room isn’t the only place that could use a little designated space magic. Denise also introduced us to the concept of the “Eat It Next” drawer in your fridge. You know how it goes – you buy all these beautiful veggies and healthy ingredients with the best of intentions, but life gets busy and suddenly you’re finding wilted greens and moldy cheese hiding in the back of your fridge. No more, my friends! With the “Eat It Next” drawer, you simply toss anything that needs to be eaten soon into one designated spot, so nothing gets forgotten or wasted. It’s such a small change, but it can make a big difference in reducing food waste and saving money on groceries.
Now, I have to admit, my personal favorite tip from the episode was using time-lapse videos to stay on task during chores. I know, it sounds a little silly at first. But hear me out! How many times have you started folding laundry or decluttering a closet, only to find yourself distracted by your phone or wandering off to do something else halfway through? By setting up your phone to record a time-lapse video of your chore session, you suddenly have a reason to stay focused and get it done. Plus, it’s weirdly satisfying to watch the clutter disappear in super-speed after! And as Denise pointed out, you might just end up with some hilarious content to share with friends and family.
But let’s be real – as much as we all love a good organizing hack, there’s one area of clutter that strikes fear into the hearts of moms everywhere: kid mementos. From the moment our little ones start bringing home those first scribbled drawings and cotton ball snowmen, it can feel like an uphill battle to keep up with the influx of precious memories. And sure, we could just stuff everything into big plastic tubs and shove them in the attic, but then what? Are we really going to dig through all that stuff years down the line, trying to remember the story behind each and every piece?
That’s where Class Keeper® comes in. This incredible app, created by Denise herself, allows you to digitally organize all those cherished childhood mementos in one easy-to-access place. You can snap photos of artwork, awards, and other special items, then add notes about the story behind each one. Class Keeper® even has pre-made categories to help you keep everything sorted, from schoolwork to sports achievements and beyond. And the best part? Once it’s all uploaded, you can toss the physical clutter without an ounce of guilt, knowing those memories are preserved forever.
Now, I know what you’re thinking – surely an app that amazing must cost a pretty penny, right? Well, my friends, I have some incredible news. I’ve partnered with Denise to offer listeners an exclusive deal on Class Keeper® memberships – just $7 for an entire year! That’s right, for less than the cost of a fancy coffee drink, you can have access to this life-changing tool and finally get a handle on all those kid mementos. Just use the special link here!
Of course, Denise and I covered way more ground in our conversation than I could possibly fit into one blog post. We dished on everything from note hacks to the power of grab-and-go bags and even dove into some of the deeper mindset shifts that can help us embrace simplicity in all areas of life. But I don’t want to give it all away – you’ll just have to go give the episode a listen for yourself!
And when you do, I’d love to hear from you. What was your favorite tip from the episode? Have you tried implementing any of these systems in your own life yet? How’s it going?
